New Ambassadors present Credentials
Their Excellencies the Ambassadors of the Czech Republic, the Kingdom of Thailand and Bosnia and Herzegovina presented their Letters of Credence to the President at Áras an Uachtaráin today.
His Excellency, Mr. Josef Havlas, Ambassador of the Czech Republic, was accompanied by Mr. Martin Vítec, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of the Czech Republic.
His Excellency, Mr. Vikroom Koompirochana, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand, was accompanied by Mr. Nathapol Khantahiran, First Secretary, Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand.
Her Excellency, Ms. Elvira Begovic, Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was accompanied her husband, Dr. Mirza Begovic and by Ms. Jadranka Negodic, Minister Counsellor, Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The following also attended the ceremony: Mr. Brian Lenihan, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Health and Children, at the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform and at the Department of Education and Science (with Special Responsibility for Children); Mr. Brian McCarthy, Secretary General to the President; Mr. Dermot Gallagher, Secretary General, Department of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Joe Brennan, Deputy Chief of Protocol; Mr. Gerry Kelly, Assistant Chief of Protocol; Ms. Claire Reeves, Protocol Officer, at the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The Ambassadors were escorted to and from Áras an Uachtaráin by an Escort of Honour consisting of a motorcycle detachment drawn from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin under the command of Lieutenant D. Mc Donagh.
The Guard of Honour at Áras an Uachtaráin was provided by the 6th Infantry Battalion, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, under the command of Lieutenant D. Rock.
The Band of the Defence Forces School of Music was conducted by Commandant M. Armstrong.
